📄 Caller ID Emulator and Simulator — Trade-show Demonstrations

Caller ID emulator and simulator

Can I demonstrate caller ID without telephone service? Yes. A software-only simulator can generate test caller-ID data for a compatible POS receiver or display it in an offline caller-ID popup. This demonstrates the receiving software; it does not prove a physical CallerID device decoded a real call.

Software-only demonstration

Select either POS output or Caller-ID Popup. In POS mode, the POS must be configured to listen for the data and perform its own screen-pop. Sending a packet alone does not display a customer screen. Use an isolated demonstration network and fictitious customer information.

Demonstrating a physical Vertex

A Vertex demonstration needs visible, compatible SIP signaling through the device's capture path and its data-management connection to the receiver. A local SIP call source and peer can provide test signaling without carrier service. Encrypted SIP cannot be read by a passive capture device; do not disable security on a customer's production telephone system.

Demonstrating a physical analog unit

An analog CallerID unit needs actual telephone-line ringing and compatible caller-ID FSK signaling. Use a qualified telephone-line simulator or a compatible SIP-to-FXS adapter on an isolated bench. A PC network connection alone cannot supply analog ringing. Never connect two FXS/ringing sources together or connect test ringing equipment to a live carrier line.

Availability of the CallerID.com trade-show simulator

The Windows trade-show simulator is an engineering build undergoing Windows, hardware, POS and Odoo sandbox qualification. It is not yet a qualified dealer release or signed installer. The optional Odoo demonstration opens explicitly mapped existing sandbox contacts; it is not an automatic production customer lookup. Contact technical support for current availability and assistance selecting a safe demonstration setup.
