📄 No Caller ID on Analog Lines

No Caller ID on Analog Lines

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify caller ID service is active with your phone company
  2. Check that the caller's number is not blocked (Private/Restricted)
  3. Ensure phone line goes to LINE IN (not LINE OUT) on the device
  4. Let the phone ring at least 2 full rings — caller ID is sent between ring 1 and ring 2
  5. Try connecting the device directly at the demarc point
  6. Check for DSL on the line — install DSL filters on all devices except the modem

Common Causes

  • Caller ID service not subscribed with telco
  • DSL interference without proper filters
  • Long cable runs (>500 ft) attenuating the signal
  • PBX not passing caller ID to analog extensions
