CallerID.com announces that the most popular Whozz Calling? "full-featured" and Whozz Calling? POS series units are available for direct local area network connection. Ethernet Link units simply connect to the local area network via any Ethernet jack. The unit sends UDP broadcast packets through the entire LAN so Caller ID information is available to every computer on the network. Except for the data delivery method, Ethernet Link devices function exactly the same as serial port connected units. Implementation is accomplished by simply parsing the Caller ID string from the UDP broadcast packets. Programs to setup and capture Caller ID data delivered via the Ethernet is available, as well as royalty-free, Visual Basic .NET and Java source code. Documentation describing interfacing is available in the Ethernet Link Supplement (pdf) Caller ID Integrated POS
